How to Measure Your Door for Glass Inserts
A quick guide to getting the right decorative glass insert for your entry door.
Step 1 — Check Your Door Thickness
Your door thickness should measure at least 1¾″. Contact us if you have any questions about your door’s thickness.
Step 2 — Measure Length “A”
Measurement “A” determines the size of glass you need for “B”:
| Measurement A | Glass Size B |
|---|---|
| 30″ | 20″ |
| 32″, 34″, or 36″ | 22″ |
Important: if your door is less than 34″ wide, you must use a standard lockset. A larger lock like a keypad will not fit — there is insufficient space between the glass frame and the lockset.
Step 3 — Measure Length “E”
Use your door height to choose full-size or half-size glass:
| Door Height | Full Glass | Half Glass |
|---|---|---|
| 80″ | 22″ × 64″ | 22″ × 36″ |
| 96″ | 22″ × 80″ | 22″ × 48″ |
